The max of Silver dollars in 30gal?

I was wondering how many silver dollars would be able to live comfortably in a 30 gal tank? And should i put other diffrent kind of Semi-aggessive fish in my tank?

I wouldn't put silver dollars in a 30 gallon. IMO it's just too small.

welcome to fishlore!!!!!

I also agree...55 gals minimum as they like a bunch of their own to feel safe..they are super skittish fish and need that room to swim away and dart away if scared or startled (which they do easily)

Welcome to fishlore! Unfortunatly Silver Dollars just can't live in a tank so small. They are skittish and need to be in schools, therefore a 55 gallon is the maximum for a fish that grow so big.

Didn't notice they were new, will have to start checking post count.

Welcome!!!

And I still wouldn't do these fish in a 30 gallon tank.

well theres a whole bunch of different fish that could work....but heres a few links to help along the way

the nitrogen cycle is the utmost important link to read before adding anything http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm without doing this step, allot of the fish will not make it

then you can go from there and check out this link http://www.fishlore.com/freshwaterfish.htm when you see something you like, write them all down and then you can compose a list and ask for advice from members

Good afternoon and Welcome to Fish Lore
I have to agree about Silver Dollars being in at least 55g. They will grow from 5 to 8 inches depending on which species. Too, in order for them to school as they should they have to have room to swim. They feel safer and more secure in larger numbers. Silver dollars are one of the most peaceful fish I've encountered. As for the two that you have listed in your aquarium information, just keep your eye on things. Keep up with your water changes and try not to add fish that are too aggressive. Also It's not suggest that you have live plants with Silver Dollars. They are herbivores and the plants won't last too long.
Hope you can share some pictures of your tanks

Umm, there are so many! Take a look at this guide here: Work In Progress: Freshwater Community Stocking List

Look at the one for the 29 gallon, there are loads of good suggestions!

Are you interested in Colombian tetras? They have kind of a similar body shape to SDs, are easy to keep, and are very colorful.
