Timid Silver Dollars

I have 6 fair sized Silver Dollars, >2" possibly 2.5" in a 135 gal.
I had them for over a month and they have grown a bit I can tell and their fins have gotten better. They had a little ragged edges to their fins when I got them. Seem very healthy, eat well and alert overall "good fish".
The trouble is they hide all the time or at least when I am in the room. I have come around the door sneaking to peek them swimming about the tank and nadda. I had them before and don't remember this behavior. I expected them to be a bit timid for a few days or a week but after a month they still don't come out. They come out for feeding and zip all over the tank very fast. I swear I don't know how they keep from running into each other. However they will dart right to the back of the tank and hide if you even move stand up from your seat. This is the computer room and doesn't have a tv or anything like that.
All my kids are grown and there is only my wife and myself that are ever around the tank.

What can I do to make my fish more the center piece I intended them to be?

They cost a good deal to not be able to enjoy.

Good morning. I have a small school of 5 Silver $'s. All of them are 5 to 6 inches and elderly. They are most active at feeding time and spawning time. The rest of the time they just kind of hang around. I have a feeling they are fine. As you mentioned they can be timid when moved, first purchased, if anything was added to the tank. I don't think I'd worry too much right now. I'd say they are still getting familiar with their surroundings. They are truly a beautiful fish
