Silvers fighting

From all the reading I've done, I'm pretty sure I've got 3 female and 1 male silver dollars. The black spawning spots are really dark on a few of my females lately and they have been fighting. I've also noticed them chasing the male. I havent seen any actual mating or eggs though. Should I put another male into the mix?

hmmm are you sure it isn't 3 males chasing 1 female? lol Think about it. It's been my experience with my Silver Dollars that the males are the ones instigating mating. I could be wrong I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as one hurting the other. Please keep us posted.

If the females are the ones that get the 'breeding spots' then it was definitely the females chasing the males. I thought that was funny too. Just to update, I got 2 more silver dollars, small ones. One of them is already displaying a small dark spot, so I'm thinking I ended up with 1 male, 1 female. Who knows? Anyway, the olders ones accepted the new little guys right away. I havent noticed anymore fighting but we've been out of town this weekend.
