Hi all,

I currently have a 37G tank that I'm going to be putting some fancy goldfish in. It won't be for another week or so as I'm still trying to cycle it (lots of nitrites right now, but no nitrates... so close!)

Well when I went to the fish store to get a new filter and some conditioner, my boyfriend and I were looking around at the fish. Well my boyfriend fell in love with the shrimps while we were there and was begging me if we could get some for the tank.

So I was wondering if goldfish would do well with shrimps?
Shrimps can swim fast, and from what I heard fancy goldfish can't, so could they stay away?
I also have a bunch of hiding spots in my tank right now, what if I add more, would that make it ok to keep them?

Hi.

I've never had Goldfish with shrimps before but from what I heard, Goldfish could eat the shrimps if they ever get the chance. IMO, I wouldn't take the chance on adding the shrimp with them. I'm sure an experienced member can give you more opinions and input on that. Good luck!

Thanks for the response.
I think I'll pass on the shrimps for right now. Maybe I can find a nice 5 or 10G and have a shrimp tank sometime in the future
