You could add shrimp if you swap out the fish. You have 7 fish in a 1.5 gallon tank... or is it 15g?

Hi Speed.

You can't have all those fish in a 1.5g tank. You'll have loads of problems including with space and this could lead to fish getting cramped up and death. So I'd suggest getting a bigger tank, a 15g would do nice. At this point, I would suggest not adding any other fish or even shrimps until you get a bigger tank.

1.5g is really small for any fish. You could probably by chance fit only a small tetra. Maybe a betta but everyone recommends a betta do have a tank minimum size of 5 gals. I'm sorry Speed but you'd probably have to get a bigger tank. If you want to keep all those fish, a 15g as recommended would do good. Just checking though, are you sure its 1.5g? Because according to your aquarium info, you have had this tank since last year?

Hello Speed. A larger tank would be wonderful for the fish that you have now. Then add some shrimp. You can do a "search" at the top of the screen for Shrimp...Cherry shrimp or whatever type you are interested in. I don't have them personally.

I agree with the rest. 1.5g is too small for any fish. Shrimps and Snails would be ideal for that size tank but you seem to be going the other way...Cory's need to be in a school of 3 or more preferable 6-7, tetras need be at least 6. I'm glad you haven't had any casualties in your tank yet but please do get a bigger tank. Let me know when you get a bigger tank and I will provide the shrimps info

I'd say that with what you have now in a 15gal you would be stocked pretty well to the limit, but if you added more fish you would be overstocked.

Shrimp create almost no bioload, so you can just about always add a few to most tanks so long as you don't have any fish that will snack on them.

This set up: "1 bandit cory, 3 neon tetras, 2 red eye tetras and 1 otocinclus catfish. i'm going to add another 3 bandit cory and 5 neon tertas" will give you a fully stocked tank, so I don't recommend adding any more fish after that. But you can definitely still add some shrimp or even a mystery snail. Some popular varieties of shrimp are ghost shrimp, red cherry shrimp (rcs), and bamboo shrimp. Bamboo shrimp need a good current though because they are filter feeders and without a current they will die. The other two varieties will eat debris off the substrate and don't need the current to feed. RCS and ghost shrimp would get along fine together.

I've never owned tetras so I don't know if they'll nibble on your shrimp.
