Invertebrate Tank: How many Cherries per gallon ?

In a 5 gallon tank which has MTS and a Java Fern how many Cherry shrimp would be happy ?

I've never had RCS but I usually stock my ghost shrimp 1/gallon. Good luck!

Shrimp have extremely low bio loads - you can go higher than that. You could easily put 8 in there with the snail, 12 if you really wanted to go all out.

i probably wouldn't go for 12, but i think 8 would be a good number

Start with 5 and soon you will have more than you need. They're very prolific.

I've seen anything from 3 to 8 per gallon. I believe in the higher numbers...........moreso the larger the tank and if you're a careful feeder and do good water maintenance. The 1" fish per gallon rule does not hold with many fish in my opinion, and worse when talking about shrimp.

At one time, I had about 400 in a ten gallon tank.

They are a very low bio load. You should feed very little, maybe twice a week just a pinch.

Start out with 10 and when you get to where you think there are too many, sell some to your friends!
