how would a small group of amano shrimp be in my community tank? it has cardinals, kuhli loaches, an angel fish, and 2 small clown loaches.

id like to get some amano to help clean out the algae, but i dont want them to be an easy snack for my loaches

I'd think they'd end up being a snack...

How about Ottos? They probably wouldn't be a snack!

the otto's arent cleaning very well... i had 4, now have 2. they've all had huge fat little bellies, but i still have a lot of algae to be eaten.

plus the little amano shrimp are so much fun to watch.

We'll see I guess..

You could add more otos. Bristlenose plecos are the best algae eaters I have ever seen though. My pair keeps my 80 gallon spotless

You could try to get some of shrimp since they are some of the larger ones once they get to adult size. I have a otto's now and have had more of them and I noticed they like to eat the scum not really the algae (at least thats what mine have done and do). Maybe if you can find a flag fish? I have a American/Florida flag fish (female) and she eat s algae like crazy,... everykind!!!!! She is always eating, seriously always eating and always pooping LOL. (Don't tell her I said that she would be embrassed.......)

ive never seen a flag fish here! but you live in Florida, so you probably have a ton of them!
