How many red cherry shrimps can i keep in a 8G?

Ok so i had a post asking for care help on red cherry shrimps, i have learnt alot and am ready after the tank is cycled, i was told i could keep 40-50 in a 10G but i got an 8G instead and i am very happy with it, but how many can i keep in an 8G. Thanks

My suggestion would be to get a dozen or so and let them breed. Red Cherries will do so readily, as long as there's a place for the spawn to hide from the adults (java moss or even the plastic "guppy grass").
Otherwise, I'd say three dozen would be a good number.

I was intending on breeding them and using some of the babies as live food, i have set the tank up with places to hide, i would post pics but my computer has broke so im using my PSP, it takes ages to write with lol.

You can probably keep a bunch in an 8g, but the more you have in there, the more often I would clean the bottom.. which I'd leave bare. A sponge filter would be good as a regular HOB will suck up the tiny baby shrimp.

The cleaning challenge is the baby shrimp that you suck up. I spend more time moving the removed tank water from 1 tub to another checking each cup of water for baby shrimp than I do cleaning.

A ton of java moss or guppy grass would be good along with some caves and even some filter sponges (the baby shrimp love hanging out on them).
