Thinking of getting shrimp...

I already have 1 shrimp, I think maybe it's amano... but i was wondering if there are any shrimp that i may want to avoid because of size; i dont want them eating my neon tetras(they are less than an inch) or any platy fry if my fish get pregnant. and i dont want shrimp that my platies will pick on b/c one of my platies is nearly, or more than, 3 inches and will eat ANYTHING. i was considering a couple of ghost shrimp and maybe something else but i dont know

You may also have to deal with the platys wanting to eat the shrimp. Ghost shrimp may work in that tank. Just be sure to give them hiding spots around the tank and see if the platys show interest in them as a meal.

okay, should i be worried about the ghost shrimp climbing/jumping out where the filter is? or will they stay in as long as there's hiding spots? and i do need more plants. sparta(biggest platy) is already picking on the shrimp i have, which is just a little smaller than her

I've not heard of shrimp trying to get out of a tank and our cherry shrimp tank is loaded with shrimp.. they're all happy to stay in the tank and I would try more hiding spots for your shrimp or it might need to be moved to safety.

I've not had bamboo shrimp, but I believe they eat what they can scavenge also.
