We have several hundred here.
You can spot an adult female 20 feet away, if she is out in the open.

how small are the babies. like how easy are they to spot after they are born.

The babies are tiny, 2-3 mm in length when they are hatched.

They are fairly easy to spot, as your eye seeks out movement.

as the tank starts to get more filled up with shrimp do they start to become more active. the ones in my 20 gallon have days that there very active. im not sure if i want to move my males to the 5.5 or not. if i want to continue breeding i will for sure but im not positive. Also once shrimps are full grown do they continue to molt?

Yes, they continue to molt their entire life.

You can always feed excess shrimp to larger fish.

my keyhole would proubably enjoy them huh?. that the only nice thing about when you fish breed. your not really throwing away money your just contributing to the cycle of life. and i was wondering when they count sword tails adult sizes are they counting the long sword on the males tails or do they really get between 4-5 inches long. i think is is going be my last of topic questoin thought dont want to upset cwc by not keeping the forum nice an neat looking

No worries.
Yes, they get that big.
That is the length from the snout (nose) to the start of the tail.

The keyholes would munch them like candy.

so what i would just put on in there and they would just see it crawling and then go after it. i cant ever figure out what makes a fish want o eat another fish

Movement plays a lot into it.

Another thing is, that in the wild, they must get food any way they can.
Not so in our fish tanks.
So they test out anything that fits into their mouth to see if it is food.

The aggressiveness of African Rift Lake cichlids do not make them good fish to work with early in the hobby.
