Able to get pictures?
What color are they? (red, green, blue, clear, etc?)
How long has it been since you found them? Some shrimp grow slowly (in comparison to others)

They could be ghost shrimp, cardinia shrimp, juvenile cherry shrimp, etc. More than likely they are probably ghost shrimp, because a lot of stores carry those as feeder shrimp. They are clear and get to about an inch and a half in size, and don't really count towards the bioload. It would take 30-50 of the things before a noticable bioload/biomass would be noticed.

Shrimp grow slowly, they are growing, but not very fast. It takes a ghost shrimp normally like 6 months to get decent size.
