Peppermint shrimps...

So, got a couple of peppermints today, and acclimatised them using a drip method, which actually went on for about 4 hours. No sooner than I put them in the tank did I see a shrimp exoskeleton floating past... What do you guys put this down to? Stress? Do you think one has probably died?

Panicing here! Thanks for any help.

Here's some tank info:
350 litre tank, with 45kg of cured live rock. Cycled. pH of 8.1 - 8.2. No ammonia/nitrates (nitrites?! I get the two confused - all I know is that both were well within the normal levels.) SG of 1.024 and it's at 26 degrees in temp.

That could easily be a normal shed. They'll molt on a regular basis as they grow. If it looks translucent and fragmented, it's normal growth. I wouldn't worry.

I agree, if it looks like an empty shell, it probably is. I have a coral banded shrimp that molts every couple of months, getting bigger each time. Have had him well over two years, he's a loner shrimp in a 110G reef.

ps: would love to pics of 350L!
