evil shrimp

Picked up a Skunk cleaner and now hes picking the scales at my black perc, im worried the bloody thing is slowly eating him hes already got a small patch of bare flesh.

This normal for cleaner shrimp until they stay settled?

He keeps it up im gonna make a bisque

cleaner shrimp dont normally take the scales off, normally just parasites , maybe the shrimp is a bit starved try feeding a bit more if your fish are eating all food before shrimp ,,

my cleaner hasn't done any harm to my fish...he is one heck of a cleaner though! i am getting irritated that when i feed my anemone he swims right up and snatches the food right out of the anemone...he doesn't share well!!

great idea...what i have started doing is feeding the tank and at the same time feed the anemone...it keeps the shrimp occupied...at least some of the time

i feed my anemone dried shrimp twice a week and the cleaner comes straight out and takes it some time before its out my hand ,, as its not scared as i have let it clean my finger nails in the past so now i put a container over anemone and make sure shrimp is stuck on tenticles then leave to eat

it looks like a fungal infection and your shrimp is trying to clean it do you have a hospital tank ?? take the fish out and treat it ,, he may of had the infection before you got it and it just looks like the shrimp is harming him when all his tryin to do is clean him

you think it could be a fungal infection? do you have any idea what type it might be or how to treat it?

There were no marks or signs before i bought the shrimp, he was always in good energy, ate lots very active, now though since the shrimp picks at him when its not feeding time he floats on the bottom.

i replied on other post but forgot to add that vitazim is also worth adding for vitamins for fish to get healty quicker as it contains b12 which is good for the fish s immune system and will help speed up recovery and help with any infections
