Female Serpae

One of my 5 Serpaes is beginning to have a larger abdomen than the rest of them. It reminds me of a pregnant livebearer. My question is, is this normal for a female getting ready to lay eggs, or am I watching the beginning of a problem?

Yes, a swollen belly could be a sign of a fish getting ready to lay eggs. Keep an eye on her for any other physical problems -- if she's swimming fine, just getting fat, she's probably pregnant.
