| Scratch remover kit Hi,
I recently purchased a lifeguard scratch remover kit to remove some of the scratches on my tanks. I tried it out and was very disappointed because my tank actually looks worst. I followed the instructions, but my tank is all hazy. Does anyone have any tips? |

| I know acrylic aquariums are stronger,more flexible,weigh less,insulates better,
are as clear as optical glass among other things. But knowing your tank will look
like crape in a few months even from simply cleaning the panels will not do.
This is the only reason I don't own one. This is not meant as a put down, but I
have been told by experienced people that in time they will end up looking like
you spray painted it gray.I'm sorry to say the scratches will build up over
time and it will not look as it once did.IMO get glass. |

| I know glass is better. My 125 gallon is glass and all my tanks are glass. This is the only acrylic tank I got and I bought it for like 200 bucks with halides, skimmer, sump, etc. (used) |

It came with 2x Icecap 175 watts metal halides, 1xunknown ballast 175 watts ballast, unknown skimmer (replaced with nautilus te), sump, return pump, 200 watts heater, stand, mh camopy, and the tank is a 65 gallon tru vu. Luckily it's just suppose to be a frag tank and not a display
The tank looks much better now. (after 4 tries) I removed most of the haziness, but still disappointed. A friend of mine told me to use Novus scratch remover, but I'll have to drain my tank. |

My 125 gallon glass tank was custom made with walk around overflow(brand new would probably be almost a two thousand). I bought it used though. It came with 2x175 watts halides, K4 and K3, 75 gallon tank as a sump, nautilus skimmer, live stock for $500. It came with GHA though. It took about a year ti remove the GHA
I upgraded the lights, skimmer, wateflow, stand and it cost me almost 5000 thousand dollars.
post a pic of your new tank when you move it

| Photos Here's a few photos, this is as far as I have gotten.I need more water,I almost have enough to fill the tank but not enough for the sump. The water my animals are in will just about give me enough but I want to make sure.I distill my own water, and that takes time.I had figured on one or two days for the sand to settle, first time with sand. But I used the bags the sand came in as a mat,
there was absolutely no dust storm I was astonished. So now I'm waiting for nothing. |
