What type of circulation Pumps and Size?

I'm upgrading my 30 to a 50 36x18x18,I was thinking about using Koralia's
until I can afford VorTech's.Would these be a good choice? How many? What size?My sump return will give me 300gph.

Hello Steve. I've never used the item in question. See if the link above (it has a chart) helps you any.

I buy most of my stuff from Foster&Smith,I decided to go with the Koralia's.I talked to them about what size to get, they suggested K1s.I don't know why I didn't go to Hydor's
website first off eventually I did.Their suggested sizes differ substantially from Foster&Smith's.Hydor suggested up to a K3.But was told by a friend that had K3s in his
55,that they were a bit strong.I went with the K2s,my tank isn't fully operational yet but
I have the K2s in and running. The sand has settled and the K2s are doing a great job,I think they are just perfect IMO.I will post Hydor's chart below,Thanks for every bodies help.Do to technical problems the chart won't copy past correctly,so I'll just list suggested pumps for saltwater use.For more info go to Hydor.com.

MODEL WATTS FLOW RATES SALTWATER AQUARIUMS

K1 4 400GPH 15 TO 25 GAL.

K2 9 600GPH 25 TO 37 GAL.

K3 10 850GPH 35 TO 50 GAL.

K4 12 1200GPH 50 TO 75 GAL.

I have the same tank you do, drilled in the back and plumbed to a 20 gallon sump. My return pump is a Mag 7 (700 GPH), but it's dialed back with a valve on the return plumbing. I'm currently using 2 K2's and 2 K1's for circulation. Let's see some pics of your tank!

Two K2's and two K1's,is your sand still on the bottom of your tank?I can turn one of mine off and still have great circulation.I'm hooking up my sump tomorrow and I'm almost worried that I might start kicking up sand.I'm glad my return is only 300gph.With my 5"DSB I only have 35gal.in the tank which means my flow rate will be 42.8x yours is probably over 60x.Just kidding about the sand. The photos are coming,I have some in my albums showing tank in progress. After I hook up my sump (wet dry w/o bio balls) and skimmer Red Sea C-Skim 1200 I 'll post the all done photos.
