lighting for Bubble Tip

Evening, I have my 140L salt water tank, going for about four months now.
The water parameters seem good. I have put in a Bubble tip anemone and he has been in for about three weeks now. He expands and shrivels, feeds well on shrimp and fish but is spending more time shriveled than swollen.
My question is do I have enough light for it, I have two Jebo Luxline F20w/1000k white fluros and one Jebo 20w Coral blue.
The tank is 36 inch long by 18 inch deep.
Any help would be appreciated

Hey, richo...hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you'll need an upgrade for the anemone. I would recommend looking into a T-5 fixture. You'll get some good lighting out of it, and while not cheap, it will not be as expensive as metal halide. To give you a comparison, I have 432 watts over my 4' long tank with anemone.

I agree. For that depth and width, should have more/better lighting. the bulb is only 24" long and tank is 36". DOnt know the distance b/n bulbs and top of water but how about this temporarycontraption until more/better lighting can be given. Go out and get rectangular plastic strainer (should be dirt cheap @ variety stores). See if can attach strips of styro on the rim of strainer or large suction cups to hold against glass. This will keep it afloat. Get the drift? Add some rubbles to tray and bta. What kind of bta is it?

Hoping this method can assist in improving condition of your bta.

Could not have done it better myself! Well done! Hope bta does better being closer to light.
Make sure that there is circulation w/i strainer. If have few PowerHeads running already, shouldnt be a issue but stagnancy should be avoided.
You can jerk the strainer a bit to cause a changes of water but rather leave the anemone alone, especially when fully opened (let them get much needed SunTan, lol!).

When rose BTA started to pop out to hobby about 10 yrs ago (maybe little less), I believe I shelled out about $300, if memory serves.
Good Luck!

Did you upgrade your lighting? RBTA's should be able live under PC's, but they will do better under halides. PC's should be fine though

if your still looking for lights Aquatraders.com, in my opinion, is the best place to get lights because of their EXTREMELY low cost, good quality, and pretty low shipping all things considered. Id check it out.
