Test Kit this inaccurate?

I have a Marine Lab five in one master test kit. According to the kit i've been having nitrite problems for quite a while. I knew i was having them for a few weeks because you could tell my fish were under stress. They got completely better but still the test kit read between .05-.07 PPM. I brought a sample of my water to my LFS because they use a dry test kit which is apparently more accurate, who tested it and said my water was perfect. Suprised, i made him double check it and still, perfect. It makes me think how they can actually make a test that inaccurate (and such a highly reccomended one at that)

they make alot of things in the fish world that dont always work....dip stick testers, the product cycle, are just a few that come to mind..so thats nothing new ....im not familiar with the marine 5 in one but im sure others are...im also not familar with alot of LFS using the correct testers either so be careful...hopefully some salty members will see this!

I've had some really bad experiences at different lfs until i found the one i currently go to. They've never steered me in the wron direction so far and they are always helpful. The staff is very smart and they have different staff members for different things (SW, corals, FW etc.) Whenever i've had them test my water they've done a fine job so i tend to give them a good amount of trust.

I'm not familiar with the Marine 5. I use API Master SW, but it is not the most accurate. Salifert and Elos both have very good reputations within the local reef club.

I have not used the marine lab test kits. I'm kinda partial to the salifert tests. Easy to use and read.
