Help starting a marine tank

i've had a tropical tank for about 7 years and im thinking about starting a 55 gallon saltwater tank and well i don't know too much about the marine acquariums my uncle has a 75 gallon salt tank and i always loved the way it looked and i always wanted to start one but i figured i should wait till i had more experiance in fishkeeping and i think its time to start one. so anyone willing to help i'll appreciate it. thanks
