Rena Smartheater

Anybody had any experience with these? I have just ordered one for my 29 gallon reef tank. I like the idea of putting in on the intake of my canister and removing the traditional heater. Less equipment intruding in the tank and all. If I like it, I will make the same switch on my larger tank.

I have 2 in my 65 gallon tank's sump. A 150 watt and a 200 watt one. I had to get the 150 in addition to the 200 watt one because of cold temps here in Georgia back in January. Once I got them set right, I haven't had to touch the controls at all. Cold or warm (it hasn't gotten hot yet here in Atlanta) my temps are always between 76F to 78F.

Plus there is no glass so I don't have to worry about it breaking.

I absolutely love the one I have in my 45. It's either 200 or 150, can't remember right now. I personally really like having a good indicator light which the Smartheater has. The dial seems to match the temperature gauge on the tank fairly close. A feat often not seen in any heater. lol. You also know for sure that the warmed water is being spread through the tank. It's almost like an inline heater with out the fittings and pressure loss.
