We all know how important temp is to our fishy friends. But you can only find out if your temps are out by checking it manually. I thought some might like to know that there is a thermometer out that gives off alarms when the temp goes below your desired set points. The probe (which is plastic) stays in the tank and the digital display can stick on the tank too if you wish. If that sounds better to you, check out the VWR website for alarm thermometers. Product # 61161-336. It is more expensive than other thermometers but well worth it. (Its about 50 bucks). You should consider it highly!
