Inverts Shrinking Up Please Help

Within the past two days the mushrooms and kenya tree in my tank have been shrivilng up. this morning i also noticed that the numerous feather dusters throughout my tank are not coming out. i keep up on water changes and if anything underfeed. From the day the tank was set up the water has been the slightest bit cloudy, however within the past few weeks it has been becoming increasingly cloudy. About a week ago i did a 5 gallon water change(35 gallon tank) because a couldnt stand the cloudyness. It didnt help much. I took the advise of my local pet store to clean off the live rocks with a turkey baster; i did that this morning but the tank doesnt look any different from before. My mushrooms and kenya tree have looked fine for the past week and a half they have been in the tank up until just a few days ago.
i plan on buying a marineland penguin hang on filter to help my fluval 402 canister, and eventualy a protien skimmer. im wondreing if all of this is bieng caused by the cloudy water or if there is a bigger issue. nothing has ever died in this tank. only changes are; i started using the two part aquavitro (Fuel&Calcification) reef suppliments, and KENT Marine Phytoplex food yesterday(after i started to notice changes.)

Fish: 5 damsels, some type of dottyback, 2 clown gobys

Inverts: kenya tree, mushrooms, lots 'o' tiny feather dusters, hermit crabs, and a few naucternal abalone type snail things.

I just looked at the aquarium info and to me the tank is running a bit on the high side.
Try lowering the temp to 76-77f

76-77 is tropical. most saltwater tanks or 79-82. thats how the carribean and stuff is. if you go to cozumel and look at the inverts there the temp is around 80 something. i personally know because i went there.

The tank is always within 78-82. there looking a little bit better today, but ive only had the lights on for around an hour. im heading to the store today to pick up that marineland filter. hope it helps the cloudy, and maybe in turn the mushies and stuff.

Maybe its that the tank is cloudy and not enough light penetrates the surface.

Did you acclimate them properly muttley. If you didnt that could be a problem.

Thanks fishrule101 but i beat you too it. I got the little marineland power filter which cleared the water up and also moved my mushrooms higher up. today they look alot better, alond with everything else. I think it must have been something that caused the cloudy water also caused them to shrink because i noticed it right as the water began to get cloudy. But its all clear now and everything looks healthier. Thanks again
