Re: LFS - Shark Tank !

To anyone in Sydney, Australia, there is a fish stor in Tarren point , think it is called MAJESTIC MARINE or MAJESTIC AQUARIUM or something...it has a 12foot x 4foot x 3 foot shark tank for sale.... the complete set up is going for $15000AUS
complete with about 4 blacktip reef sharks, 3 white tip reef sharks, 1 large wobbegong shark, a few bamboo sharks. it is amazing!!
it is impressive and is a major draw card to the shop... they have a daily feeding show at 3pm which gets the kids in there and they let the kids feed them using long pincers so they dont loose any arms haha..

it was truly mind blowing, the sump was 2 x 4foot tanks underneath with the biggest protein skimmer i had seen, about as tall and wide as me!!!

some heavy duty equipment!!

i have a video of it i will post it from work tomorrow!

i was tempted to sell my car to buy it.. hahaha...girlfriend threatened me though!!!

Re: LFS - Shark Tank !

That would be pretty cool, too, especially if they all schooled together.

Re: LFS - Shark Tank !

yeah come to think of it a GIAGANTOR fresh water tank would look amazing too!!

500 neons schooling together would be an awsome sight!

I'de be tempted to tansfer the family swimming pool into salt water.... be large enough to have a school of sharks..would take a while to de-clorinate and cycle the mamoth pool filters but would be a great sight!

not sure if the council would be too happy unless it was 100% locked up and safe so people couldnt accidently fall in... lol

Re: LFS - Shark Tank !

I really think that's a bit cruel for such a big fish, and natural predator.
I have a thing for sharks..

outlaw...is the PetWorld on 108th the other store near you? Or is there another I don't know about? (Always trolling for new shops to check out!)

Hey a fellow Colorado-an.

I feel your pain. There's a so-so shop about 70 miles from me. The two in town are poor to be generous. Keeps the impulse to buy at a minimum when there's nothing to buy though

The other one near me is between 92 and 93 and Oklahoma, called "The Fish Factory". It's got a blue canopy over the door and the sign says "The FISH (in the shape of an angel fish I believe (still learning my fish)) Factory". It's not big but the guy "Tom" I talked to was really cool and seemed knowledgeable. He said he builds the custom tanks and is usually there on the weekends. They have some nice tanks there too, ones that Aquatics didn't have. If you stop there, the ones we were looking at were the Odyssea B28.

70 miles...that would either make me move closer if I were "die hard" enough...or almost quit and find another hobby.

That's what the internet is for. lol All my equipment came from online sources. When I do get to the farther store I buy a new coral every time. Lucky for my bank account I don't make it there very often. At least they have a selection.

That's always a plus. That coral is probably pretty expensive which is why I am going FW for my first "real" aquarium.

Usually about 30 bucks. Not too bad till you add them all up right.

30bucks isn't too bad. Less then I thought, but yeah, once you add them all up, your eyes glaze over with $$$ lol.

If you don't get a chance I could probably post some pics. I will probably be going there again soon.
