LOL probably not, your just not used to petstores have display tanks are you. One by me has a 675 display, 175 shark, reef cube, and another reef display. another store has two SW 125 displays, 125planted, 75 goldfish, 75 cichlid, 75 reef. Helps with customers actually

yea, i've not been in a pet store with display tanks.. just the overstocked tanks that they keep "inventory" in.

Yeah ... We're a little spoiled here in SoCal. There's a lot of Tropical Fish Stores ! Your commit about PetCo reminds me why we call PetCo (DeathCo). Seems like there's alway dead fish floating in their tanks.

LOL, i like that, it's very appropriate for every petco i've been to. if there were truth in advertising, their commercials would end with "DeathCo - where the fish go to die."

I love the Petco thing cause its so true. They dont clean the tanks much and they don't use precautions when it comes to mixing different species of fish.

lol.. yes, Deathco has many fans in the aquarium keepers world.. with their poor treatment of fish, their double-charging practices, etc. etc.. they make petsmart look good. i'll stick with the DFS website and any good small shops we can find.. too bad there are none around us. it feels good to give business to someone else, knowing it's not going to deathco.

well.. one day.. we'll have a shop.. either specifically betta and betta-related or a more general fish shop.. you can count on NO betta prisons or useless crap like deathco sells and tanks that are clean and not full of dead fish parts. bettas will be happy and we may just have a betta shop as there are so many species and you really could run a shop just with bettas. people who haven't looked at wild bettas would be surprised at the colors and variety. i know i love our mahachai.

wow! its only 11.51 miles from my house thats like 16 minutes... cool. Sadly i havent found a great one yet. I just go to the massively overpriced Tongs Tropical Fish near where i live.

The Eye Candy aquariums one is about 5 min. from my house and the orange coast tropical fish and supplies one is about 20 min. from my house. ive never been to any of them though... think ill check it out soon...
