Re: My 60 gal. bow-front

Hey yours is looking good too ! I like nanocubes, I've seen a lot of great corals in naocubes. The LFS I go to has a pair of clowns and an anemone in one. The only thing it runs a little too warm, so they had to put a chiller on it !

Nanocubes come with a chiller, don't they? That's what impresses me with them so much. All the stuff they come with .

Re: My 60 gal. bow-front

Oh talking of chillers, huuuuge diversion here, sorry, but we've just had the greatest idea (in all modesty). In our supermarkets, they sold Calippo-shaped ice lolly cones (don't know if it's the same brand name in the US, so here's some pictures of a calippo stick: http://images.google.com/images?um=1...3Aen&q=calippo). Anyway, so we filled them with:
1/ creme de menthe / water;
2/ 4 roses bourbon and coke;
3/ creme de chocolat / amaretto
and waited until they froze.

We had some friends over and it was a huuuge success. You should totally try the creme de menthe ones if you're having a hot summer!

P.S. Kids, this is for adults only, please don't try this yourselves.

I was wondering what it was like out of sheer intellectual curiosity. I'd never do this myself. Anyway, I found this: .

I was thinking I might have some problems buying some of that here

Not a lot seem to and you have to usually add more flow because the pumps are low. They are good for beginners and DIYers. If you wanted hard corals you would have to mod it.

Cool Pixs!!! I just love saltwater fish... they are so beautiful with amazing markings. Like your manderin and the blue tang! wowwoww is all I can say! If it wasnt so expensive and hard to care for, I wish I would be able to do a SW tank. Well.. maybe some day! Thanks for sharing the photos.. every now and then I love to pop over to the saltwater section just so that I can see these fantastic photos!!

It's a Green Bubble Tip Anemone (GBTA). It's doing better now, you can tell by the brown color it's betting back (their symbiotic zooxanthellae algae). As for the sun coral, I will try to get a picture of it eating tonight !

Here is the sun coral opening as lights start to cycle off. They feed at night.

They basically eat anything they can catch in the water column. I supplement feed them mysid shrimp and cyclopezee every other day.

i see.. it sounds like a lot more work than a FW tank, but i think if we research and are prepared before doing a SW tank, it could turn out well and be worth it.
