OK ... So if you been following this tread for a while, you'll remember I have two pairs of banggai cardinals in the tank. Yesterday the largest male's mouth has been enlarged for about a week, So I decided to take a peek down his mouth. Yeap it's full of little baby banggai cardinals ! Photos later today after the lights come on.

WOW gorgeous. I will just have to keep looking at your tank and drooling. I have FW coming out my ears and I am just not ready for SW yet. But thanks to you I am getting my marine books back out and taking them for another read. I just have to keep telling myself I am out of room, I am out of room, I am out of room. Great tank...Love it!!!

OK, now the photos ! It's very hard to see the little guys at this point. All I can see is a few pair of eyes in the males mouth. I'll try to get better shots in the next few days.

Thanks SWilkins. I suggest you consolidate a few FW tanks and start a SW reef tank.

Bad news ... He spat them out while I was at work, or last night. Tonight he has his mouth shut and is taking food from me. He looks very thin. Also the female is already doing her shake dance for him. So she's ready to mate again real soon. I was really hoping to catch a few this time.

Yes they do. The male refuses food the whole time he's carrying the fry in his mouth. About 25 days.
I looked for the babies in the corals, none could be found. Next time when I can see the fry's eyes looking back at me, I will transfer the male to a ten gallon holding tank.

This really makes me want to switch my 55 gal. over to SW. But I don't have the $$ now.

A 55 gallon is a great size for a SW tank. Not too big and not too small. I'm with you on the money thing. This economy stinks !

I have a friend who works in a SW fish store, so I can get some deals. But it's still going to hurt the wallet. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Consolidate? Boy would I have some unhappy fish around here. I would be afraid they would gang up on me when I least expect it if I do that. Maybe my next tank....MTS, MTS, MTS. LOL

Sorry you lost the fry maybe you will have better luck next time. You will have to keep us posted.

Thanks ... If you lived closer I'd give you one. The one in the upper right side of the tank is hogging too much room. LOL
