The formation of the rock is beautiful. As for advice about it, you'll have to wait for the SW memebers to advise you.

You got some nicely shaped rock. I am still preparing to start my first saltwater aquarium. I hope I can find some shaped like that. What kind of substrate to you have?

Looks great. Yellow tangs are a great addition to any sw tank.

The shape and ledges you've made with those rocks looks really neat. Using live rock is definitely a good start. But, in my opinion, a 30 gallon is small for a yellow tang. They're active swimmers and need/like lots of room to swim. The bigger the tank the better.

Watch for signs of ICH (tangs get ich easily) and give the tang lots of marine origin algae. I have a yellow tang and attach sea veggies (dried sheets) to a veggie clip on a regular basis. Seems to like the green seaweed more than the purple seaweed veggies. It's fun to watch him tear it up. I can hardly get my hand out of the tank fast enough. Overall a great fish to keep.

i to agree with mike a 55 gallon minimum for a yellow tang and a 2 week old tank is really not a good start , they are really not a good fish to put in a new tank ,,as they will get stressed easily and ich . and QT is a must with tangs
nice tank and nice rock work ,, but not a good stock ,, please research your fish before stocking , and good luck in the future

Ouch ... I miss that one ! Yellow tangs will get red in their fins when stressed. I recommend taking the fish back to the fish store where you purchased him. Ask them to hold the fish until your tank finishes cycling. Or trade him for some smaller some fish.

trade for smaller fish that dont grow so big or require a bigger tank ,, at the moment for such a young tank chromis should be good or a less agressive damsel some thing with a low care level and hardy ,,
as theres nothing worse then lossing live stock to poor judgement as we have proberbly all done i know i have , and this made me read even more as i wonted to care for fish not make them suffer or kill them through poor LFS advice

i think i willl be o.k i hear alot horror stories about sw tanks but it's not that bad. my tang is about two inchs right now and i understand one day i will need a bigger tank. right now he is the only larger fish i have two little damsels that don't bother him and he doesn't bother them so...... i'm just gonna take it a day at atime.
