Hey now! I'm happy people have looked and learned how to capture the beauty of our finbabies.....

Great pics of both the kids...I LOVE the flamer! Be careful though, they are JUMPERS!

Peterpiper: No. Right now I've been using some shrimp brine and mysis brine. I've also been giving them a bit of emerald entre and putting dried sea weed on a clip. They're stuff I put out last night was pretty much all gone by the time I got home. The other reason for the emerald entre is to give some other stuff for my emerald crabs which I had to move out of my main tank as they were enjoying my mushrooms and polyps a little too much!!

And thanks Shawnie. For my camera, it took me a bit to find the setting. It had a macro setting and there was an option there for closeups. I set that to be on when I was using the macro. Other cameras just use the tulip icon to represent that. After that it was just turn on the flash and turn the camera at an angle so the flash won't show. Then hold down the button half way to get it focused and wait in a spot where the fish tend to swim by. The click when they come into frame.

And it was seeing how good Martin'smommy pics were got me to looking for how to do with my camera.

Thanks. And I've read that about flame angels. I'll have to put something at the back of the tank. The canopy doesn't cover that area. Right now I'm fine with him in my quarantine tank. He isn't going anywhere in there. heh

Thanks for your comments.

As for how am I getting such great pics....the only thing I changed was that I started using my macro mode. In there is a setting to use the closeup feature. Basically it tells the camera that the subject is only going to be a foot or 2 away.

Some cameras have this setting right on main dial. Other cameras such as mine (an Olympus) put inside the macro setting. The macro setting is right on my main dial. I had to then bring up the menu and then I found it.

The other thing to do is to take the pictures at an angle. That way the flash doesn't show up in the photo.

Usually there is a little pictures of a flower, that is almost always the macro setting button or mode.

reading the manual to your camera is always a good thing.
