Agressive Goby

I have two old watchman gobies in my 125 and they were fine with each other until recently.

A few weeks ago they killed some hermits, but that didn't really bother me. It also killed both of my skunk cleaner shrimp and that made me quite angry at it. I was moving a coral a few days ago and it bit me. I was surprised because the only fish I know that ever bites me in my tank is the clownfish. Last night I saw it bit my yellow tang and he didn't let go.

I was thinking of selling it. I'm gonna move my tank this saturday so I'll be putting him in my frag tank for the time being.

What I like to know is why are they suddenly agressive? They were fine for a long time until two weeks ago.

I really am not a salty specialist but I'll try to help. Are you sure what gender your gobies are? Maybe this sudden aggressiveness is a result of spawning time.

well ive heard yellow watchman gobies are generally agressive (having more than one can be a risk) but of course its a big enough tank that probably wouldnt matter so their probably just kind of finding eachother or they are spawning (which is plausible but im not sure how that works into their aggressiveness exactly). Overall id say try just having one in the tank. You could either sell your other one or keeping it in your frag tank is a good idea and you can watch how the one reacts with other fish.
