Saltwater Fish Food - Topics related to the feeding of saltwater fish and invertebrates. It seems like new foods are being introduced all the time for the saltwater aquarium hobby. Pellets, frozen food, freeze dried, flake food and home-made fish foods are very popular. Feeding newly introduced saltwater fish species can sometimes be very difficult. Use this board to discuss your marine fish food issues or tips.

Cardinals not eating

Hello, I bought two Bangai Cardinals and a Royal Gramma last Friday but the Cardinals are not eating. I tried small pellets(New Life Spectra Marine Formula) and Nutrifin Max Complete Flake Food. Once this morning, one of the cardinals looked like he was gonna go for it...but nope. It's been four days.

This is a common problem with a lot of saltwater fish. I'd feed either live or frozen brineshrimp or frozen blood worms for a few days, then switch to flakes.

yep, defrosted mysis or brine often does the trick. Just put in a couple at a time and see if they go for it. If not, double check your water parameters. Maybe something is out of whack.
