| | Fish Keeper | ICH Treatment!
After having spoken to several different SW keeper having a combined 40yrs of experience with dealing with the horrible, dreaded ICH in SW, this is the treatment they have recommended to me. After soooo much research and the death of my only 2 fishes, Yellow Clown Goby and last night my Orange Fire Fish. These are the makers of Amqul+ among other well known products used my us Aquariusts. http://www.novalek.com/kordon/ich_attack/index.htm |

| | Fish Keeper | Just another product among so many natural Ich treatment remedy. I would say it is hit and miss just as other herbal remedy which I am familiar with.
Go for it. Post results.
I dont know where you obtained information on Cryptocaryon irritan. But try Reefland.com. Pretty thoroughly laid out and simple. I am sure you will find it very useful.
This is very simple fact but difficult to treat since hard to catch them at early stages.
Like I said before, very seldomly/rarely experienced Ich infestations on fish with extra slime coating (natural defense) such as clown goby, although it couldve been. I cant say for sure since I never seen your fish.
I hope you find the solution that works for you. |

| | Fish Keeper | I would hesitate to use any medication in a reef tank even if it says it is safe for corals and inverts.
As I understand it, you can run the main tank fallow for 6-8 weeks to get rid of the ich parasite. This, of course, would require you moving the watchman goby to a QT during this time. You could treat him with hyposalinity in QT if you want as either a preventative measure or if you see that he has ich. |

| | Fish Keeper | I have never had marine ich in any tanks, so never done it. I've read quite a bit about it on WWM and they seem to prefer it over treating with meds. |

| | Fish Keeper | Well I've already started treating so there's not much I can do except pray. I don't have a qt tank ready. But I've started one. It's just a lil 3g, yes I know I should go bigger but for now it'll have to suffice. I've got some LR in there, just a few small pieces and added some crushed LR to the filter. However the LR was dried out.
I'm trying so hard not to get discouraged. I keep having the green algae issue. Now it looks as if a small frag of polyps has died. It hasn't been out for over a week. The purple and green polyps seem to be doing good as well as the zoa. All inverts are healthy as well so far, lets see what happens with the new med.
My water perimeters are all good. ammonia=0
nitrates=0
nitrites=0 SG=1.024 pH=8.4
cal=400
kh=214 |

| | Fish Bum | Try "Kick-Ich". I had ich on my new blue hippo tang, it then spread to my two clown fish. I tried the Kick-Ich. It did the trick and wiped the ich out. It says its safe for invertebrates. I have 70lbs of LR and 2 cleaning shrimp and it all did fine. Follow the directions on the bottle because even if the ich looks like its gone (off the fish) it can still be in the tank so you have to follow though with the kick ich even after the fish look ok (too kill the ich if its still in the tank). In my tank it didn't look like it was working for 2 weeks, although it wasn't getting worse. After 2 weeks the ich started disappearing. After a month it was gone. I also turned the heat up to about 80 because it speeds the parasites life cycle, aka exposing more generations of the ich to the meds to get rid of it quicker hopefully. It saved my tank.
I hope this helps/works.
If I ever get it again i will definitely use Kick-Ich again. |

Without a host, the ich should die off. |

| | Fish Keeper | I've gotta look for a larger qt tank. I've got a 3g up and cycling but that's no where big enough for 3 fishes.
On the up side I started using ICH Attack and after 2 days my Fire Fish is actually looking better. Spots seem to be diminishing and she's more active. For now it's my only option at least until I can set up a decent qt tank. |

| | Fish Keeper | That could just be due to the nature of the life cycle of ich though... it's hard to say at this point. |

| | Fish Keeper | Happy happy Joy joy Well I'm on my 4th day of treatment for ICH (found on my new Fire fish) and lo and behold she is looking wonderful!! I've been using ICH Attack at 3ml a day. I almost thought I was gonna lose her. Today I came home from work (having treated the tank this a.m.) and she was out, looking for food!!! Only a few spots showing on her fins, where's 2 days ago her whole body had them.
My inverts are doing good as are all my zoas/palys. |

| | Fish Helper | Hi all,
I have a question to you all that I was confronted with in another web site.
How do we know it is the Ich parasite for sure?
I was told that there are alot of other parasites that look like Ich. Taking that into consideration how do we know we are treating Ich and not another parasite. Maybe that is why some medications work for some people and not for others. I wish there was a 100% definitive way of finding out if it is Ich indeed. Does any one know how to determine if it is Ich 100%. |
