Does my tang have ich?

Just recently (about 2 days ago) my yellow tang started scratching himself against the decorations and the substrate quite often. Whiel i know that's a sign of ICH. i don't see any white spots on him but then again he won't let me get a close look because everytime i get close to the tank he hides. and whenever i go over to where he's hiding he zips away to hide somewhere else. should i just start treating for ich to be safe? if so what treatments work?

I'd take him out and place in QT and just monitor him. You can always take him out and slowly lower the salinity to around 1.012, some say 1.017.

Although it may be possible Ich/Amylood, how about just simple Cleaner Shrimps if and when possible. Just be careful when adding to tank. It only take one bite to break/tear shrimp in half by some fish thinking Dinner is being served although fish recognize the shrimp as cleaner once well ajusted.
I believe you may have Niger Trigger. If thinking of adding Cleaner Shrimps, do so at middle of night when all are sleeping. Still risky though.

I believe Hypo can go as low as 1.009 although I have never went below 1.016. Do some research on Hypo procedure before tempting.
