I woke up at about 4 in the morning today because of my sore throat. I turned on the light in my room and looked over at my fish tank. I noticed my yellow tang was out which isn't normal for him during the night. I noticed he had a very large brown spot on his body. About 3/5 of the size of his body itself. It looked very dark and distinctive in the dark because i didn't turn the light on in the tank cause i didn't want to bother the other fish so i don't know how dark it is in the light. I did notice yesterday that he was itching himself on the sand several times. I know that ICH is white spots so it's probably not that. Any ideas?

Good morning FullOfIt...I hope your Tang is going to be alright. I tried a search for Yellow Tang and didn't come up with any helpful information for you and your fishes condition. Hang on. I'm sure someone with experience in keeping Tangs will answer you shortly. If you want go to the top right hand corner and try a search for Yellow Tang. Maybe you'll find something I've over looked.

I turned the light on this morning and the spot isn't really visible. he still sseems to be very itchy and does this occasional twitch that i just noticed my niger trigger also does once in a while. (besides the twitch the niger trigger seems fine) the yellow tang has also lost a lot of color. instead of being the bright yellow it was it is sort of pale. (like the same shade he was after i first acclimated him from the stress)

Have you checked your water chemistry? ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
