Does ICH ATTACK work????????

I got some wild clowns that seem to have ICH, I need to know if "ich attack" has worked in your guys experience. Please let me know because I really hope I can save my clowns. Currently I am using the ich attack in the main tank cause its supposed to be reef safe and so far I haven't seen any problems with inverts or corals. Please let me know if this has worked for you in SW treatment, or else I can get something else to treat them with. Thanks!

Look at the package. If it doesn't have formalin and/or copper in some form it likely won't work. Especially stay away from the "specially formulated blend of pepper" stuff, it's just snake oil. You should also closely observe them as they might actually have a disease called Brookynella that is somewhat common in wild captured clowns and can be deadly in a matter of days.

There aren't any reef safe ich cures that i've found that really work, or if they do work it is not nearly as effective as quarantine and formalin with 50% daily water changes. Feed with food that already has garlic extract in it or add some garlic juice to your feedings to help build their immune system. Once you have used an aquarium for quarantine and treatment I would suggest to never use it to hold inverts or reef setups.

If you do not have a tank you can use as a hospital you can dose with the "reef safe" stuff that sometimes turns out to not be reef safe anyway and hope for the best for your clowns.

thx for the reply Hypnox, I quarantined the clown fish in a 10 gallon tank, and am using this other medicine that has formalin in it. The clown fish is still alive and now it his been over a week in the QT tank, do you think he'll survive? He seems to be improving and if he was going to die, I thought he would died by now. THanks.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I was having tank issues, as in my 20 gallon reef completely crashed, but that's another story for another post.

With the QT you will want him in there for 6 weeks at the least, be sure the ich is no longer visible. Keep the fish in QT till ich has not been visible for atleast 2-3 weeks. As was stated just above me, turning the temperature up will help speed up the life cycle of the ich.

Some people even use hypo-salinity to help kill the ich infection, they do this by bringing down the salinity of the tank to 1.018 SG. Marine Ich has a hard time surviving at this level of salinity.

Pufferkeepers usually use the hypo method (since puffers are very sensitive to copper and such meds) and I've heard of lots of people having great success with it

o yeah btw u goes know if maracyn plus will help heal him. I read on the net that the fungus should pass on its own after a couple of weeks but I am not sure about that.

Raise the temp to at least 84 for the next two weeks. Then vacuum the gravel.
