What is this on my Stingray

I have a 100 gallon saltwater tank with a couple of different fish in it one of which is a round stingray. Over the last couple of days I have been noticing a purple like fungis looking this on its back and he is not moving around as much as he used to which I know is not a good sign. I had all my water tested tonight and everything was in good order. Can anyone point my in the right direction as to what this is and if possible how to fix it. I have had this ray in my tank for well over a year and do not want to lose it.

I do have some decent photos of it but I am pretty new to this site, is there a way to post them on here or would I need to mail them directly?

if you look at the top of the frame when you are posting your reply there is a picture postcard icon if you select that it will allow you to browse to the photo to post it directly into your reply

I think that's only to link to a URL...I might be wrong though...I post my pics by clicking the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of this screen right next to "post quick reply"...Once you get there, there is a button "Manage Attachments"
click it and then you can browse to find your pic on your computer.

Sounds like a fungus. Fungus infections in saltwater are almost always due to poor water quality and/or stress due to mis-handeling/shipping/fighting/dietary deficiencies.

what are your parameter on the system?

what are his tankmates in the system?

what kind of diet is the stingray on?

what kind of substrate?

do you have a QT you can use for treatment?
