I was wondering if anyone has used Rid ICH+ in a reef. I was told that it will work but that it stesses the corals. A LFS that I use and trust told me this. They set up and maintain alot of tanks in about a 200 mile radius of where I live and this is the only treatment they will use. It says on the bottle that it may harm invertebrates and live rock.

Tests were done on a number of different meds to determine their effect on a specific coral, rid Ich isnt on it... but a couple of similar things are, hopefully this will help you out. it looks like the Greenex and Kick-Ich brands were the only 2 that had no adverse effects.

I have used rid-ich but only on freshwater. I have to tell you that I still have my snails. So it depends on the water conditions.

only if you want it to crash. Rid-Ich is a malachite green / formalin solution. It's not going to stress the corals, its going to kill them. As well as any other inverts in your reef. Plus it will wipe out your biological filter.
