fin rot?

had a eibili angel that came down with ICH. Treated that for 2 weeks and everything seemed fine. Now I notice he has some frayed fin edges and a small ammount of this white stuff hanging off his tail fin. Is this fin rot? Looked online for help, but all of the help was for freshwater. What kind of medication can I use and will it hurt inverts too? Do I have to setup my hospital tank again? If so, man that stinks.
Oh yeah, tank parameters:
pH: 8.3
ammo: 0.0
trite: 0.0
trate: >12.5 mg
specgrav:1.022
temp:78
also did 10% water change

do you have a pic ?? would help
give vitamins with b12 in and will also help in ich not being caught again and any other infections fin rot is normally bad water conditions or fin nipping so need to rule out later ,
most meds for fin rot are ok for inverts but check with LFS first

tried taking a picture, but he won't sit still long enough, and the detail just won't show. He looks terrible now. Fins are kind of torn, and his skin looks kind of blotchy, especially round the head and face. He staying in his little den and seems to be struggling to breath. How do I give vitamins to a fish also? Maybe a newb question, but I have no idea.

One thing you can/should do right off are water changes. Poor water quality tends to be the culprit quite often. Try 50% water changes every other day for a week.

do you have a QT if you have try to remove him and put on its own and monitor,
i would agree with a water change but as you have a manderin i would guess its not water quality as he would of got too,
vitamins are given through dosing of the water in a liquid form,
vitazin by waterlife is a good additive

he died, did all of the water parameter tests again and all the same. The parameters have been the same for weeks now, so I don't know if it's water quality.

sorry to hear he died may have been a bacterial infection if you still purchase some vitamins for you other fish this will help them not getting ich if it still in your main tank ,,
did you qt all you fish before putting in display ??
i would do a water change 10% everyother day for a week and test again ,

yeah, qt for @ least 2 weeks. The angel was fine for about 2 months, then caught ich. Quarantined for 2 weeks and medicated. He was fine so I re-introduced him to the main tank. He was doing better than before, then all of sudden one day I saw his fins looked ragged and he was breathing hard. There was nothing I could do, he was dead within 12 hrs. Still should do the vitamin b12 huh? Where can I buy those in liquid form other than my LFS, for some things they are outrageously expensive?

vitasin is a multi viatamin which has b12 in it and helps keep the fish immune system up making them healthier and also gives better colours to fish
in answer to your Qs try ebay ........

Not on ebay, and I tried googling it. Everything came up either in German or some kind of eastern european language. It's all to me. Heading to the local fish store probably, and will see if they have anything.

They didn't have anything, but I might have found the culprit. Low spec gravity because of faulty hydrometer. Was, at the store and a funny feeling just told me to buy a new hydrometer; got home and the reading on the tank was .018 not .023 like mine was telling me. Man, do I feel like a jerk. Also, was wondering if sea salt has a shelf life or expiration date? Had my salt for about 3 months now.
