brand new yellow tang - is this normal?

My local LFS was having a huge sale on Saturday/Sunday with all of their livestock at 50% off. One of the fish I picked up on Saturday was yellow tang. Take a look at this picture and look just above his eye. You'll see a brown spot.

Normal? Stress induced maybe? Something else??

I'm pretty sure it wasn't there yesterday. He is eating normally and swimming around like nothing is wrong.

Hi Oil_Fan,
Your tang is looking a little thin around the tummy. Tangs require a lot of LR with algae to feed on. We are feeding ours ( powder blue tang ) with mysis enriched with garlic, blood worms and nori ( dried seaweed ).
Tangs are grazers, and need to have a supply of food, so if your tank is still young I would look at feeding him some nori ( 2" sq ) 2-3 times a day.

He is definitely thin!! My main tank is 5 months old now but he's currently in my quarantine tank right now. I have some newer LR in there along a big piece of base rock that's been in my main tank up until 2 weeks ago. But even then I doubt that's enough for him to graze on.

For food right now, I just have the regular Sally's Seaweed Salad, normal mysis shrimp and brine shrimp. I know too that brine isn't the best thing. I'll check the clip before work tomorrow to put more seaweed salad on there.

But I will pick the nori and the other stuff tomorrow after work. Thanks for the help.
