when i get my tank set up i was wondering what to watch for in the tanks and such at LFS to know whether the fish is safe? does that make sence? i mean whats things to watch for to see if they are sick or a chance they could be sick......

..well if they are floating upside down.. I wouldnt buy that one! lol..
seriously...
what not to look for, fish that are isolated and by themselves, stress lines, frayed fins. discoloration in body color and clamped fins are all some indicators of a fish that is not doing well.

I hope that didn't eliminate half the fish at your LFS. I wouldn't go to that one anymore if that's the case lol

lol i know what you mean.... youll never guess what i saw today....fish with little hearts on them!



i dont know what they did to them, but i was furious! i let the manager have it about all the mean things that happen to animals because someone wanted a green duck or a pink poodle, and let him know that fish are just as sensitive to this kind of thing and you have no way of knowing if it hurts them or not! i mean its not like you can just rinse the dye off of them. HELLO! THEY LIVE IN THE WATER!!!!

anyways....he called the suplier and canceled the reorder...right in front of me...im gonna keep an eye out for anymore and let the store that i find them in have it hard....

Good for you! I read a thread on here about tattooing fish. Maybe its one of those.

oh i hope not! not i really do feel bad...im gonna have to find the company that does that and get a petition!
