recently bought a purplefire fish and its been constantyl harrased by my coral beauty i also noticed it goes for my royal gramma aswell, wat would u recomend to do take the coral beauty out or is there anything can do to stop it

Yikes... dwarf angels can be so tempermental, as you have seen! How long have you had the gramma and the firefish? If you don't see an improvement in the angel's attitude before too long, I'd say you'll probably have to rehome it.

umm imE the fish is making sure the others know who the queen or king is,

the firefish i purchased from someone "was" the queen of that tank, then i put her in a smaller tank, my sleeper goby was not very happy and gave the bigger or similar size fish guff for about 1-2 weeks he didnt care about the smaller fish.... and maybe a week later the firefish was the queen of the tank... again...

my opinion would be if noones getting hurt or nipped bad, id let them ride out there differances... the beauty maybe worried about food and all these "newer" fish competing with it...
if its killing nipping wayOVERstressing the fish... then its time to go, new home, or differant tank you may have?
wish i lived closer to you, id gladly rehome if thats what you would like,

but i would give it a good while, if its just chaseing and showing dominance, deff keep a close eye, nipped fins are not a good sign of playing around...

Stress can and will kill a fish just as fast as being wounded if not faster, rehome the angel!

yer will have to rehome i think wats the best angel to get or would a yellow tang be better ? the firefish hardly coming out n think it has some nipped fins

A 40 gallon is not large enough for a yellow tang IMO.

Yeah definitely no yellow tang.

If he's nipping the fins of the other fish I don't think that will stop. I've seen where they'll chase the fish around a little bit, then that turns into shooing them away, then that turns into occassionally reminding the other fish who's boss. But if there's fin nipping it might not stop.

Bummmer! Ive got a coral beauty.. and really like the purple firefish too... so is this a definate no no then?
