Hi! I've had an established 40gal fresh along with some other fresh' and a fully established 30 gallon salt water tanks for awhile. I was going to use a spare 3gallon tank I have to make a mini coral tank. I was wondering if my 8.5 (odd number i know) canister filter would work for this small of a saltwater tank? I've heard canisters aren't the best for saltwater but would work just fine for a tank this size

Use live rock and 1 power head or 1 propelllar head to circulate the tank. You will have to do water changes frequently as well the smaller the water load the more maintenance.
