I do the same, I let the
RO sit for weeks. Have not seen anything significant that it shows that's not do-able. Also I let the saltwater sit over night before I use it. I use Oceanic salt mix, and it gives me an
specific gravity of 1.023 with half a cup to one gallon. It all depends on the salt mix you are using. Do test and tiral to get an idea of how muc salt you need for the level of
salinity you want.
