when doing a 10 to 20% water change in a 55gl tank what is the best way to do it. i buy r/o water at my LFS bring it home but some times it set in the container a week or so before i use it. is it ok to just put in salt mix and pour it in or do you have to let it set a few days or how should this be done and is it one cup per gallon of water ect. thanks for any help.

I do the same, I let the RO sit for weeks. Have not seen anything significant that it shows that's not do-able. Also I let the saltwater sit over night before I use it. I use Oceanic salt mix, and it gives me an specific gravity of 1.023 with half a cup to one gallon. It all depends on the salt mix you are using. Do test and tiral to get an idea of how muc salt you need for the level of salinity you want.
