Hyposalinity ick treatment with live rock?

I know that I will eventually have my marine tank infected with saltwater ick. I do not quaranteen, so I'm playing a game I will eventually lose. I have done hours of research only to find that hyposalinity sounds like the only good treatment for ick inside the main aquarium. I am aware that inverts and corals will die from hyposaline conditions. That's fine because I don't plan on having any inverts/corals in my system. However, will hyposalinity treatment kill the live rock, thus turning it into dry rock, thus sending the tank back at square one...THUS! meaning you will be pulling a lot of your own hair out !!!

Will hyposaline conditions kill LR? Please answer... My opinion is it will not...

Yes it will! You should not put fish in a reef untill QT this will create havic in your tank buy a 10 gallon and do a 10% water change every day if no filter or etc. watch fish and make sure they eat when given the choice. Another way is to give the fish a fresh water dip prepare a freshwater dip with a filtered water with no impurities then dip the fish in for 20 seconds and put fish in a sterile tank if the fish has ICH you don't want it to spread in main tank! Use copper base in Qt Tank to rid ich! DoNOT use copper in reef tank you will kill all specimens. If you don't want to go that route then I suggest buying 2 cleaner wrasses to help rid of ich they clean fish thats what they do in there natural world they eat parisites that effect fish they really do good just takes alittle while as long as they don't become infected. Ich is caused by stress and poor water qualities if you don't have a skimmer and other proper equipment then you should try to get them and another thing is use RO water only!!!! It kind of sounds like you developed new tank syndrome. A higher salinity will not rid ich.It will only cause more damage to your setup.

UMMM Slow down bud, I cycled my tank fishless for over three months. My water perimeters are perfect, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20, and a pH of 8.2. As you can see I did everything right. So do not assume that my fish are some way in danger just because I posted this thread. I made this thread to discuss using Hyposaline water conditions to rid a main tank (Not a Qt tank) of ick. Also, fresh water dips are enneffective as they only remove a few of the parasites on the fish, not all of them, not even close. Fresh water dips also cause extreme stress on the fish, thus are rarely successful. Another point I would like to make is that cleaner shrimp may clean a few parasites off the fish, however yet again they cannot get enough off the fish to rid the problem. And remember, the ick that we are really worried about is free swimming, not the ick on the fish, thus the cleaner shrimp is enefective.

yes it will most definatly kill the live rock.

Having said that, I don't quarentine (anymore because tank broke recently) and i've never had ANY illness, including ICK. Maybe i'm just lucky. But its true Never had a fish die either. I'm doing everything WAY slowly though.
