fox nose got stuck to the pump.

my new fox nose got stuck to the pump. the cap came off, now its back on tight.

Its a 6 month old tank. i have 1 clown, 1 shrimp, and hermit crabs. all the tests came out ok... my question is how will i know if he will be okay? he has a half circle at the top of his body near the top fin, also his color has went from yellow to brownish yellow like a big bruise. he has not eaten since i bought him 2 days ago. he seems to swim okay, just real shy. why is he not eating and i did not know about the quarenteen tank... (that is now in the works)

It's not a fox nose, but a foxface
This is mine

The brown thing in it's tail is suppose to be there. Certain kinds have those

The foxface rabbitfish is a very shy fish. It will need a bigger companion like a yellow tang or some sort of tang. Mine use to be scared (in quarantine) whenever I approach the tank, but now it's in my display with the yellow tang and it's never scared anymore.

The thing when it changes color is a sign of stress. When he's scared or stress, he turns brown to camouflage with the rocks. He all so does this at night when he's sleeping.

If he's not eating, try and give him frozen food and leave the room immediately. If he's still not eating, give him nori. Foxface are similar to tangs, they need a lot of algae, but they all so need meat.

note that your fish will get around 9+ inches and it might be to big for your tank eventually.

thank you so much.. I am so excited to have my tank and Im still learning new things. I had no idea that my "foxnose" would get that big. I eventually want a reef tank but that will take time. Right now its just great to watch and learn. Im glad I found this sight as well.
