What type of Nano SW fish enjoys shallow water and could thrive in 540 square inches of surface? I would like to use a deep sand bed of 4" (that leaves 8 inches of depth in the water column).

I would drill the tank (at the rear side wall, the bottom glass is tempered) and use a DIY 15 or 20gal sump.

If reef safe, the better.

With that nice deep bed, how do you feel about a fish that likes to make burrows in the sand? There are several varieties of gobies and jawfish that will do this. They're kind of comical to watch poking their heads up to watch what's going on and keep an eye on things.

Yea! The Pearly Jaw fish is 1 of those cool burrowing fishes. Awesome idea can't wait to see pic's!!!

Nice looking fish that Pearly Jaw Fish! This is a daydream exercise, you know how it is... pre-planning stages, natural thing in MTS now in SW version.

I will end with at least one empty Perfecto 30Breeder tank once my (still in design table, custom built) 5 footer is ready. I have a 60" x 18" frame kit (top and bottom) that I intend to set up as 90-110gal Glossolepis incisus (Red-Salmon Rainbowfish) tank.
