I just added one gallon to my new tank to top it off after removing some rocks. I added 1/2 cup of instant ocean directly to my tank which i now believe to be a big mistake. The salt fell directly onto some nice new corals that I just purchased and I'm afraid that it has harmed and/or will kill them. Some of them have white stuff coming out of the center. I am worried that this is a similar in effect to pouring salt on a snail. Does anyone know if I just massacred my coral/tank life? Does my coral need to be removed? Will it harm other things in my tank? Thanks for any help.

Uhh....i'm fairly certain you've done some harm to your poor babies...it's always the best idea to mix the salt and water BEFORE adding it to the tank...

I hope they get better!

Sounds like you know this now and hindsight is always 20/20, but never mix salt directly in a stocked tank. For the moment, I'd leave them alone and hope for the best. With luck, they will show some stress for a bit, then start snapping back. What kind of corals?
