i have 2 percula's and one has like a white film on it and is rubbing on side of tank... is this an ICH problem??.. what can i do to help my nemo?

what is the tanks ammonia nitrates and nitrite readings? have you allowed your tank to cycle?

it is most likely ich or velvet disease, both look alike but velvet disease can have smaller and finer spots as well as lead to bleeding /red streaks... i am unfamiliar with marine medications.... but medications with copper can be used.. making sure it does not reach toxic levels to the fish..... a QT for the sick one is advised

i should hope for another opinion on the medications. and move to QT and keep main tank clean make sure there aren't any spikes in ammonia nitrite or nitrate

just curious.. would i need to start a QT with new water or what... im kinda new at this?

for a QT tank.... use like 5% from the main tank's water... and the rest be "new" water made to the quality you do for the main tank(mixed up conditioned ect. w/e you would do for main) filtration unit and heater(unless it is a QT suspended in the main tank, also being "hung" from in the main tank also give it the light).. some plants give the fish a sense of security. that is my knowledge... i haven't had to use my "QT" (thankfully)

also if you SLIGHTLY raise the tank temperature it can help with ich(i used for FW tank)

Hi Shawn, according to your aquarium info, you don't know about the nitrogen cycle.

Here's a link to it. Please read it carefully. I don't know whether it complies for saltwater tanks but it also states you can use live rock for your SW tank. Hope that helps.

I've lost 2 naso tangs, 2 fire fish, and a few damsels this year. Most of them was because I bought this tank from a place that's like three hours from here.

(I hope I lost my yellow watchman because I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!) lol Jk. I do hate them though.
