Pet lobster from the grocery store??

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone on here has a pet lobster, specifically one from the grocery store? So, I was wondering, does anyone here have one?

I was thinking of getting one of those large water catcher barrels that people use to catch their rain water, putting sand at the bottom, alogn with rocks, and maybe a few plants too..... how does that sound? To keep it safe, I'd only have 1 lobster, and maybe latter get a few saltwater fish that hang out around the top of a tank.

Ideas?

Thanks,
-R

PS
*I know there are pros and cons about having them, but my ideas is instead of being on display in a store under a pile of other lobsters, it might have a chance at a semi-normal*

Those lobsters get huge, and shouldn't be kept with fish, as they will attack them.
Also, what type of filtration would you keep on a water drum??

I agree with Amanda in that they do get very large. Too you would need to know where the lobster came from, Maine or Pacific, both being cold waters. Not only are they scavengers but they are also predators. I do know that they are pretty hard to keep in captivity, as they are very sensitive to environmental changes. The ones we see alive at the store or restaurants do not live for very long, after which they are used for other foods. Sadly so it is believed that the fresher the lobster the sweeter the meat.

You can try and if the lobster dies you can eat it! As long as you know when it died of course... (trying to be optimistic about the pessimistic point of view)

they are from COLD waters too. Why not buy them all and release them in the Atlantic?
Sorry, I don't think they will keep well at all!! One way or another, once in the store they will die.

It's a noble idea you have and from them to you, I thank you for seeing more than meat to them!!!
