**I only have a hydrometer right now. If you like yours, please let me know. I am nervous to spend the money on a refractometer without knowing the best (and reasonably affordable) brand or type.

Cool! I picked up the drsfostersmith brand refractometer and it works fine. You can easily recalibrate it with pure water (RO or RO/DI water).

yeah we got one for $80 AUD and appently got it for less than half price, but its really kool, seems so scientific, but works dead on.

Well I don't think I got the best of the best but for my first one I'm sure it'll be fine. Of course I'm an avid Ebay shopper so I got it pretty cheap.
