Live Sand Amount?
What is the general ratio for lbs/gallon? I have a 40 gallon tank and want a 5 inch deep sandbed.

And also what would the ratio for live rock be?

As a rule of thumb: 2lbs and 1.5lbs per gallon of the total tank volume for live sand and Live Rock respectively. That info is not based on my experience but in what I've been reading lately.

Other factors should be considered like the type of sand (composition, grain size) and the porosity and general morphology of the live rock.
